Perfect Music

There is no perfect music (IMO).

Every piece of music has strengths and weaknesses. The exceptional creatives among us are simply better at hiding a work’s flaws from the listening audience...or better at providing aural distractions to mitigate perceived deficiencies. (It’s the musical equivalent of sleight of hand.) Rest assured, however, there are always faults or aspects upon which a composer can improve.

​Once we stop worshiping “genius” and admiring “perfection” we can begin to truly enjoy the humanity in every work.

...I also find it easier to create, knowing that whatever I do won’t be perfect.
